TYPES of Recordings: LP, 45, 78, Tape, 8T, CD. (Tape = audio cassette tape). If you need to ask what "8T" stands for, ask your swingin' grandparents if they ever had any eight-tracks.
CONDITION: in two parts RECORD FIRST, JACKET SECOND (e.g., F/M). Rating RECORD: F = FINE w/ no skips, no scratches, clean great sound; VG = VERY GOOD occasional pops & surface noise, still nice; G = GOOD but scratchy, has scuffs, still good listening; P = POOR shape, jumping skips, but great jacket! Rating JACKET: M = MINT perfect, square & solid, spine intact; M- = ALMOST MINT, near-perfect, minor age wear; VG+ = VERY GOOD PLUS, nice overall, but definite wear, has writing or small stains; OK = OKAY w/ handled look or limp paper, has tape repairs, but still worth offering w/ good record! Caveat: The above is a guide for how I grade records. I listen to each one & check out the jackets, but I'm not a scientist or geek about it.
